Week 8

Two weeks in a row. This probably means that I should get a 4 star rating instead of my normal 5 star rating. I will fix it next week.

Before we get to the awards let’s check this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights:

Manager of the Weak

We should have a competition on who is more upset: Davante Adams or George Pickens. What a bunch of brooding athletic specimens. I mean seriously why are they so angry? Is it because they have QBs who don’t even know they are on their teams? Is it because they are not a fan of Fortnite bringing back the OG map? I mean come on people we know what they are angry about. They are on The Institute! Davante needs to focus his time on getting VZ fired from The Institute, not Josh McDaniels!

Move of the Week

This picture cracks me up. It’s like Bosa is hugging the Bears QB. But I figured we have been sort of negative about KRABS this year. And since well his team isn’t very good we should probably say something nice to him. Well KRABS, good job on beating The Icon. That is swell. Great job buddy. And let’s go ahead and give you a Move of the Week too for not starting the Raiders Defense and instead picking up the Los Angeles Chargers Defense. I mean they scored 9 points! And you won by 9 points! Great job buddy!

Wait what? The Las Vegas Raiders defense scored how many points?!?!?!

MVP

Travis Etienne Jr, Christian McCaffery, CeeDee Lamb, Alvin Kamara, Josh Jacobs

Jahmyr Gibbs tried oh so hard to win MVP this week. And he almost did it bringing the Kayak Pirates to a 1 point lead with less than 5 minutes left in the game. But with 4:59 left on the Raiders final drive Jimmy Garoppolo completely ignored Davante Adams (*snickers*) and passed to Josh Jacobs for a 15 yard gain giving Aaron an additional point for receiving yards. But wait, Jacobs fumbled at the end of the play and as time stood still and the ball was free none other than Jakobi Meyers saved Aaron’s day and recovered the fumble. Leading to a 122 – 122 tie between Jeff and Aaron. And because we despise ties Aaron wins because his kicker had less points. And Josh Jacobs is your Week 8 MVP.

Manager Of The Week

Well if you smash The Institute by 54 points you have to win Manager of the Week right? This was the Herbert and Lamb show last weekend with them combining to outscore VZ themselves (yikes). If the two of them can continue that level of production combined with Travis Kelce you have a pretty solid 3 stars there to help this team get back to the Playoffs. Jerry’s Belt Buckle has a strong tradition and currently they are in first place, but he is very much trying to erase the memory of last year’s 6 game losing streak to end the season. Will 2023 be 2018 all over again? We will see.
