We are back baby! On another glorious Sunday. Well it is raining outside right now, but I am sure it will be glorious to you and your family!

Before we get started I figured I would review last week's poll. Interesting responses. I thought for sure "Door Dash A Plunger" would have been the winner in today's age of immediate satisfaction, but the winner was "Fix it Yourself". A resourceful crew for sure, but that will obviously be an "entertaining" job. But I have to ask myself, who was the one person that would just "Leave It". Nasty, just nasty.

You know what else is Nasty? Fantasy Football. What a season we have on our hands here. Umphlett has sole position of First Place after a week of winning with 74 points. He now has only had 470 points scored against him, over 100 points less than the person with the 2nd least number of points scored against them. To put that into perspective the lowest average Points Against for the regular season, in league history, is AJ in 2016 with 77.4 points against on average. Right now Umphlett is averaging 67.1 points against. I mean, positive regression anyone?

In fact let's make this our Poll this week. Where will Umphlett's average Points Against end up for the 2024 season?

What Will Umphlett's Average Points Against be for the 2024 Season?

  • Less than 65

  • Less than 70

  • Less than 75

  • Less than 80

What's another nasty thing about Fantasy Football? The injuries. Many they are nasty. And nothing is more nasty than a player being active and not really playing like Deebo Samuel on Sunday afternoon. And I know that KRABS was not a fan of it. In fact check out this bootleg footage of KRABS on Monday morning. I mean Deebo even responded!

You know what else is Nasty? Scoring Fantasy Points when your player doesn't even know the play. I mean what the heck is this?

Finally you know what is really Nasty? Winning Manager of the Weak. Cozart doesn't win Manager of the Week for Week 7. But he does lose again. But it's OK buddy. I am going to try and motivate you right now. We got your back.

And speaking of Jameis Winston, Umphlett has picked him up and Jameis is currently QB1 for the Jerry's Belt Buckles. I am not sure how this streaming QB strategy is going to work out but I mean it has to turn out better than Patrick Mahomes right now right?

But really Jameis Winston is back in a Fantasy Football starting lineup? I mean this is all I can say:

Before we get to this week’s awards, check out this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights.

Episode 8:

Manager of the Weak

I really wanted to pick Cozart for this (again), but I couldn't do it. I mean Overbay scored less points. And Jalen looks so.... sad. Overbay's record this year is like the fibonacci sequence, it can be predicted. W, L, W, L, W, L. So if the pattern continues, KRABS, you are in trouble. Overaby really struck gold when he drafted Kamara, but the problem is that he was awesome while he was on the bench and the Saints offense has really taken a dive the past few weeks in Overbay started to play him. That is never a sustainable victory model. And Marvin Harrison, woof. I can't figure this guy out. I mean he had 25 points (in basically 1 quarter) against me, two other decent games and 4 games where he didn't clear 3 fantasy points. I mean look at the bright side, Justin Jefferson is really good.

Move of the Week

Umphlett does it again. Now obviously his Week 6 kicker was injured, but he picked up Dicker off the waiver wire and well what happened? Dicker scored 21 points and got downvotes for the Week 7 MVP. Cause I mean of course he would.

MVP

JK Dobbins, Jahmyr Gibbs, Baker Mayfield, Cameron Dicker, Saquon Barkley

Goodbye Dak, Hello Baker! I mean i know that Chris Godwin (that was rough) and Mike Evans are hurt and well the forward looking projections may not exactly be great, but lets take a look at what Baker Mayfield has done through the first 7 weeks of the season shall we? He is the #2 player in fantasy behind Lamar Jackson. He has 184 points. He has FOUR 30 point outings and a 5th game at 28 points. This guy has been the biggest Fantasy Star of the season not drafted in the first round. I mean what the heck. But you know what. We all saw greatness in Gus Swayze. Congrats to Baker Mayfield for winning the Week 7 MVP.

Manager Of The Week

It has been a rough season for black is for sunday, but after the fireworks on Monday night, he is back and looking to make a move. It was quite the matchup with Derrick Henry running wild and JK Dobbins doing just enough to pull out a victory. Dobbins has been a revelation for this team with three 15+ point outings, but all eyes are on the receivers. This franchise probably had one of the most impressive rosters of WR and it has been a struggle. St. Brown seems to be turning it on, but I mean Chris Olave. Where are you?

But Week 8 could be the Week that Chris Olave is found. And it isn't stopping Brent from dropping Shade on Tuesday AM after his big victory...

The swagger is back. And well Dirty Mike and the Boys is on the schedule. Things are looking up.

Congrats to Brent Woodcox and black is for sunday for winning the Week 7 Manager of the Week!

Until Week 5…
