Week 6

Before we get started I saw this on Twitter the other day and chuckled:

Week 6 was another fun week of crazy results. The Eagles and 49ers both lost in wild upsets. But probably the most entertaining thing in Week 6 was this Chargers fan:
In fact this fan was so fired up there were multiple theories that she was a paid actor. Apparently, she wasn’t:
The only question I have is: I wonder if she brought her blanket to the game?
In other news, if you haven’t checked out TNF Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats yet I highly recommend it. It’s a different broadcast through Amazon Prime and basically it has a bunch of cool stats and analytical commentary throughout the game (with the same broadcasters). But the coolest feature is that they actually use AI (I wonder if its powered by ChatGPT) to predict blitzers. It becomes a fun little game to track to see how often they get it right. And it’s pretty fascinating how often it gets it right.
Before we get to the awards let’s check this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights:
Well actually there wasn’t one published this week. Bummer. So, enjoy this video:
Manager of the Weak

Well, well, well. It seems like Yahoo has figured out “Institute Level”. Ever since you sent the following text, it seems to have adjusted nicely. But hang in there at least you have Zack Moss. Oh wait.

You are 0-2 and guess what. You just lost to The Commish. No manipulation required. Just facts. Manager of the Weak doggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
To make matters worse? Now apparently Davante is “growing frustrated” with his role on The Institute. I mean can anyone really blame him?

Move of the Week

Billy seems to be doing it again. The magic touch has somehow seemed to make even a 33 year old Adam Thielen relevant. Thielen is on pace for 139 receptions which would be a career high and is currently the SIXTH highest rated WR in Fantasy with 76 fantasy points. Which is just insane. Absolutely insane. And Billy made the right call in Week 6 starting him over Christian Kirk and Amari Cooper which led to an incremental 7 points (17 vs. 10). Congrats to Billy for Winning the Week 6 Move of the Week!
MVP
Breece Hall, Raheem Mostert, Kyren Williams, Cooper Kupp, Tyreek Hill

Raheem Mostert – 30 Fantasy Points 17 Carries, 115 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing Touchdowns, 3 Receptions, 17 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving Touchdown.
Devon Achane has been a revelation, but with him now on IR all eyes turn towards Raheem Must Start. And he didn’t let Brent Woodcox down in Week 6 with a massive 30 point outing. black is for Sunday only won by 20 points so Raheem’s breakout was critical for a huge 2nd fantasy football victory on the season. In fact, Mostert is the #2 fantasy football running back with 120 points, and only 4 points behind #1 Christian McCaffery. Mostert now has played in every game this season and outside of an odd outing in Week 4 where he only scored 1 point, has scored double digits in every other game. And Week 6 was Mostert’s second 30+ point outing, he scored 38 points in Week 3. So he is clearly on track for his biggest season since 2019 when he had 772 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns. The question has never been talent (he is one of the fastest RBs in the NFL) but the ability to stay on the field. If he can stay the #1 RB in Miami and on the field who knows what the ceiling is for 2023! Congrats to Raheem for winning the Week 6 MVP!
