Sorry for the delay, it was a crazy week. I am currently in Wilmington, NC for soccer and I have been preoccupied with the Braves (hit the freaking ball). Plus work has been nuts (my manager is leaving Amazon) and honestly I forgot to get my alarm for 6 AM on Thursday because that is when I usually write this. So forgive me for the delay.
Let’s see, where to start. Oh I know, lets start with Russell Wilson.
Now I don’t know how many people watched Thursday Night Football in Week 5 (it was bad, really bad) but I thought I would go ahead and show you Russell Wilson’s highlights.
Trust me, I can feel Melvin Gordon here.

And now Russell has a “torn lat”. I mean the only thing that I can say is “Let’s Ride”.

But hey at least the Broncos spelled his last name right.

Let’s move to the latest fashion styles of the NFL. Who wore it best? Kyler Murray or Hillary Clinton? I will let you decide.

Let’s move to a spicy trade rumor. Lots of chatter about Christian McCaffery being traded…. To the Bills?

That would certainly be interesting but I can’t imagine someone trading anything of value for a running back but it will be interesting to see what happens with the Panthers for the rest of the season. What a junk show.
Looking around the league, Brent Woodcox bounced back with a huge week 5 victory over Josh Allen and showmedamoney! (their first loss of the year). black is for sunday now paces the league in points, but it is fairly obvious that he doesn’t pace the league in watching videos posted in The Notes…
Before we get to the awards lets check this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights:
Manager of the Weak

Maybe he looks cool with his flowing long hair and trucker mustache, but boy did he crash back to earth in Week 5 with a big loud 0 Fantasy Points. Look at the bright side, maybe he can try out for Uncle Rico in the not yet announced reboot of Napoleon Dynamite. Hang in there buddy, maybe he can be Hunter Renfrow one day.
Move of the Week

What in the H I Double Hockey sticks is going on here? Taysom Hill played 23 snaps in Week 5. That is 30% of the total New Orleans offensive snaps. 30%. And do you know how many snaps Taysom Hill lined up at a TE position of those 30? 0. 100% of this snaps he lined up as a QB. See?

And do you know what Taysom Hill did in those 23 snaps? He had 9 carries for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns (?!?!). Oh yeah he also threw a 22 yard touchdown pass. He scored 35 Fantasy Points. 35. And he was started at TE where not he hasn’t played a single snap ALL YEAR.
Hill is not a passer (one passing attempt this season); he's not a receiver (one target); he hasn't been much of a goal-line option (one carry inside the 5); and he's used sparingly as a rusher (21 carries in four games). Hill's extreme and unsustainable efficiency (10.9 yards per carry and 5 TDs, compared with 1.3 expected) does not match his career per-play production.
So while I am not holding my breath about this being a sustainable victory model, it is fairly obvious that Umphlett is vindicated with his sneaky Taysom Hill / TE experiment which is why I am awarding him the Week 5 Move of the Week.
MVP Hunter Renfrow, Taysom Hill, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Nope not doing it. George Kittle.
Look we already talked about Taysom Hill and Kelce and Mahomes had some pretty massive Monday Night Performance, but lets set the stage for what a true MVP performance is.

I don’t believe I have ever seen a more selfless or team focused effort than Hunter Renfrow on Monday night. Hunter Renfrow wanted The Commish to win so badly that he was willing to tackle his own teammate on the field to prevent him from catching his third long touchdown that would have given the evil Institute the Week 5 victory. When it mattered the most Hunter Renfrow didn’t use his football skill, no he used his playground mentality to do what he knows best and that was to just tackle Davante Adams because he wasn’t going to catch that ball.
I am not sure I have had a prouder moment in my Fantasy Football career and congrats to Hunter for winning the Week 5 MVP!
Manager of the Week

Big win for Dirty Mike and his boys in Week 5. I mean Travis Kelce with 4 touchdowns is a big deal and it was a massive Monday night performance, but isn’t the story here Nick Chubb? He is now the #1 RB in Fantasy through the first 5 weeks and the guy is just a machine. He is only playing half the snaps (That is like way more than Taysom Hill btw) and just looks like nothing is going to stop him. Just wait until the Criminal comes back. It’s pretty amazing to me how the Browns have been not just a competent offense, they have been a very good offense. The NFL, who gets it? I don’t.
But the bottom line here is that with Tom Brady ascending to QB1 due to the absolute implosion of Matthew Stafford and the Rams and a solid WR corps, I think you are looking at a team that may be able to make a run here. And let’s not even get started on the strength of Brent’s kicking game. Congrats to Brent and the entire Dirty Mike franchise for winning the Week 6 Manager of the Week!
Until Week 6 (which sort of I guess started last night. Man Thursday night football stinks) …
Lmao at them basically begging people to watch this. Amazon is like “what the heck did we buy?”
P.S. Don’t forget, Bird Aren’t Really rally today at 5:30 PM. NYC. Be there and be a part of history.
