Week 4

I apologize for taking so long this week, but well it was a busy week. And well do you remember how you felt at Draft Weekend when we launched the Champions Address? Do you remember just feeling sad and "why are we watching the entire Disney Robin Hood movie" and "why isn't this as good as Generalissimo"? Well that is how I feel now. Hang in there Logan and David (and Chris) Not in Nottingham. Wait sorry "Playoffsville".
Lets go ahead and talk about a few interesting things:
Here is a list of players who has had a 20% target share every game through Week 4. Some expected names on here, but interestingly Anthony Miller isn't even on a roster anymore and I want to call out Deebo Samuel (more on him later).

Alvin Kamara is apparently a grinder now. He didn't have a single catch this past Sunday, but he now has 2 straight games with 24+ carries. And well as shown below, that is unheard of.

Terry McLaurin is going to break out this year and he had a huge game in Week 4. Part of that is the depth of the routes he runs (and the targets he gets). He led the NFL in Air Yards in Week 4.

Will Week 5 be the week we actually see Cordarrelle Patterson enter a starting lineup? With Calvin Ridley apparently deciding he no longer wants to play for KRABS due to "personal reasons" he does have an open WR spot. But I mean how ridiculous is this. Even though he was only on the field for 30% of the snaps in Week 4 he had 29 fantasy points. HE IS THE THIRD HIGHEST SCORING RUNNING BACK IN FANTASY FOOTBALL AFTER 4 WEEKS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD?!?!?!

And what predictably happens in Week 5? Robert Woods goes off.

With a win over Brent in Week 4, VZ moved into a tie for 2nd place for most all time Rivalry Week wins. But how about Brent Cozart with his third consecutive rivalry week win over KRABS and 4th win out of the last 5 matchups? I guess the only thing that really isn't happening in "Playoffsville" is winning during Rivalry Week.

Before we get to the awards, lets take a look at this week's Gridiron Heights!
Manager of the Weak

Things have not started well for black is for sunday. While he started off with three consecutive weeks scoring over 100 points, in Week 4 the bottom fell out. Keenan Allen struggled (how do you get 36 yards on 11 targets and 7 catches)? CeeDee Lamb didn't make an impact (Prescott apparently stopped throwing to WR after Week 1). But most importantly Brent just hasn't been able to get on the right page with his starting Quarterback. He has started the "wrong" QB 3 of 4 and to insult to injury in Week 4 Trey Lance (please throw to Brandon Aiyuk) was the leading QB scorer on the roster and he only played part of a game. So even though the season has started poorly, he has now "snaked" Damien Williams to help temporarily stabilize the 2nd RB spot and in all seriousness with Brady, Jackson, and Lance no one has more QB talent in the league. And let's look at the best thing for his roster, he is playing The Commish in Week 5. So while things have started off poorly I mean there is only one direction to go now!
Move of the Week

Zaccheus Malik Moss was a sleeper Fantasy Football pick last year coming out of the University of Utah. On a up tempo offense with a open depth chart, he was supposed to have an opportunity to really break out last year. Well he didn't. And he started off the year inactive as a healthy scratch in Week 1. Not exactly a great start. Since that time Moss has 3 straight double digit Fantasy Point outings and 3 straight weeks of increasing carries. And Aaron picked him up off the waiver wire after Week 3 and plugged him into the lineup for Rivalry week to get a solid 12 points vs. the Houston Texans. Considering the current state of RBs and the fact that I feel like my entire team is hurt (or stinks) it sure would be nice to have Zack Moss back on my roster (at least the 2021 version). Congrats to Aaron for the Week 4 Move of the Week!
MVP
Deebo Samuel, Buffalo Defense, Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott

After starting off the year on fire (against me) Tyreek Hill has been absolutely non existent the past two week as teams basically played Cover 2 and forced someone else to beat them. I guess the Eagles didn't get the memo because Hill went Nuclear on Sunday. He had 11 receptions for 186 yards and 3 Touchdowns. There is no one in the NFL more explosive than Hill and he can single handedly win any matchup on any week. But he can also be taken out of the game relatively easily if the other team just decides they aren't going to lose to him. And he also can take some pretty cool corkscrew pictures. Congrats to Tyreek Hill for winning the Week 4 MVP!
Manager of the Week

As you have seen on Facebook, Umphlett was rather anxious for The Notes this week. I wonder why? Maybe because he scored 150 points (the most he has scored since he scored 162 in Week 13 of the 2014 season)? Maybe because he won for the first time in 2021? Maybe because he won a Rivalry Week Matchup (the first Rivalry Week Matchup in the past 5 tries and only the 2nd of the past 11)? Maybe because he beat The Gold Standard? Or maybe its E: All of the Above. Either way he definitely was giddy this week wasn't he? I mean wouldn't you be giddy if you had Saquon Barkley scoring two touchdowns vs. the New Orleans Saints (a defense that is supposed to shut down RBs). I mean wouldn't you be giddy if Deebo Samuel was getting all of Brandon Ayiuk's targets and defenses were basically deciding not to guard him. I mean what the heck was this defense? If you notice on this play 4 (FOUR) defenders converge on Aiyuk and literally no one (no one) guards Samuel. Doesn't the Seattle defense know that Trent Sherfield is better than Brandon Aiyuk?
If Deebo Samuel is going to continue to produce like this (FYI another player I drafted last year) and Hollywood Brown can keep from dropping 3 Touchdowns a game and Barkley continues to play at a 85% snap rate, could this team really start to bust out? It's been a rough start, but I am pretty sure there are managers in the league that would trade their roster with Umphlett with no questions asked.
Congrats to Umphlett for winning the Week 4 Manager of the Week!
Well that is all I got.
Until Week 5...
- The Commish
