I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to spend time with family and friends.

"If you got a chance, take it, take it while you got a chance

If you got a dream, chase it, 'cause a dream won't chase you back

If you're gonna love somebody

Hold 'em as long and as strong and as close as you can

'Til you can't"

Rivalry Week

Another entertaining set of Rivalry Weeks in 2021. It's interesting to see how even the scoring is in Rivalry Week overall, but I guess as many games as we have played its probably statistically bound to even out. Some interesting streaks that are currently active: VZ has now beaten Brent W 4 straight times, not starting a full lineup is of course a factor in this (more on that below). Jeff Smith is also currently on a 4 game win streak against Overbay, although we have a clear understanding of what exactly happened in Week 12 in this matchup:

But let's get to the real story that everyone wants to talk about. How about another Rivalry Week victory for The Commish? I now lead the league overall with 15 Rivalry Week victories and currently sit at a mind numbing 10-2 against my current rivalry Jerry's Bel....... Andy's Face Shield. Keep posting your hype videos and living in your Week 4 150 point outing. It was a great accomplishment, for a single week in Fantasy Football. And don't forget, you own a sauna!

Check out the overall Rivalry Week standings:

Whoops

We are all aware of the greatness of Jonathan Taylor, but in Week 12 the RB on the other side of the field stole the show with Leonard Fournette scoring FOUR touchdowns. And shockingly he has been heavily involved in the passing game with the Bucs:

Normally this would be a highly celebrated event, but as you know Fournette was on the bench! Ouch. Fournette is now a top 8 RB (tied with Cordarrelle Patterson, insert eye roll here). Yet he still finds himself on the bench behind Alexander Mattison and Eli Mitchell. Which means that overall #1 pick Najee Harris and 2nd round pick (and healthy) Saquon Barkley have been benched. This is some impressive depth, but too bad one of them can't play WR (wait that joke isn't as funny because one of the people mentioned previously in this paragraph can play WR). Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the RB position shakes out for Andy's Face Shield because it is going to be critical to continue their impressive season this year.

Where did the First Round RB Go?

Ouch. This chart is pretty rough to look at. I will let the commentary speak for itself, but the summer RB depth chart is a waste land as we enter December. What's nuts is that Derrick Henry is STILL a top 5 RB and he has only played 8 games. Seeing James Conner on there is just rough. Man dropping him still stings.

And I would be remiss not to mention that Christian McCaffery is out for the year after multiple injuries he couldn't recover from. Since signing his $64M deal, Christian has only started and finished 7 games over the past two years. Ouch. McCaffery has been a staple on the roster of Billy for the past few seasons. Could we be seeing the end of the McCaffery and Billy relationship or is another season (at a huge keeper cost) in the cards? Only time will tell.

Also you can always count on Billy to pickup that Kicker Insurance. Long Live Harrison Butker.

Waddle Waddle

How good has Jaylen Waddle been? He is now a top 20 WR on the season and the #6 WR over the past 4 weeks. He was a huge catalyst to the Kayak Pirates victory in Week 12 and may be a cornerstone player for this franchise for years to come.

The Seahwaks.... Stink

Could it be that KRABS traded for DK Metcalf, or the curse of Jeff Wilson was transmitted like the Venom parasite to Russell Wilson, or maybe its just because they stink, but man do the Seahawks stink right now. Monday Night Football was rough to watch and while Russell Wilson was able to break a 3 game played streak of scoring 10 or less points, can you really feel confident starting this guy? Apparently VZ knows something the rest of us don't, but really the Seahawks stink.

And what the heck with DK Metcalf. Apparently he did not like being traded. He has a total of 6 (yes 6) Fantasy points since he has joined KRABS roster. Can you say mutiny? It's almost like KRABS was trying to go somewhere and he picked up a homeless guy on the way.

But before we get to the awards, let's check out this week's episode of Gridiron Heights!

And if you aren't an HBO conssieur (like me) here is more information about the show they are making fun of: https://www.hbo.com/succession

Apparently it is a show that is about : "Power, politics, money...it's all in the family in this provocative, funny series about a highly dysfunctional dynasty."

Let's get to the awards...

Manager of the Weak

Brent W didn't start a full lineup. Why I am not really sure, but that is a surefire way to get yourself a Manager of the Weak. It was unlikely to have made a difference, but come on man it's Rivalry Week!

Move of the Week

I guess last place managers, although slow and ineffective as a competitor, can still serve a purpose.

KRABS was able to get his second ever Rivalry Week victory over his hated and despised Rival Dirty Mike and a huge reason why was his decision to pickup and start the Bengals Defense which balled out in Week 12 with 19 Fantasy Points! I mean I guess a blind squirrel find a nut every now and then but congrats to KRABS for winning the Week 12 Move of the Week!

MVP

Aaron Rodgers, Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Defense, Jaylen Waddle, Josh Allen

Alot of Bengals love in this edition of the notes. But as previously noted, Joe Mixon is one of the biggest values of the season and again, I am so glad that my friend is able to enjoy a season of Joe Mixon with his own personal Joe Mixon jersey that was given to him as a gift of authentic joy and friendship.

Joe Mixon continues to dominate and the Bengals have built their entire offense around him. I predict that he will finish the season as the #2 overall RB and he is finally fulfilling the potential that he flashed for many seasons before this.

Congrats to Joe Mixon for winning the Week 12 MVP!

Manager of the Week

It has been a difficult season for the Kayak Pirates, but with a huge Week 12 victory they find themselves at 6-6 and technically only 1 game out of first place, but many teams ahead of them. Can Jeff and Jacob find a way to overcome their injuries and inconsistent play to squeak into the playoffs? One thing is for certain, there is no path unless Patrick Mahomes is his normal dominating self so he has to hope that the bye was the solution needed to get Mahomes on track and players like DJ Moore step up down the stretch. But in Week 12 Jeff did everything he needed to get a critical victory which is why he is Week 12's Manager of the Week!

Well that's all I got. We have 5 teams tied for first place with 7-5 records. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out down the stretch, but I have a feeling that points scored is going to end up being very important.

Until Week 13...
