Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone gets to spend some quality time with friends, ordering ridiculous amounts of presents from Amazon, watching copious amounts of the World Cup, and celebrating Micah Parsons sacking former players from Dook. I am thankful for many things in my life, but I would be remiss to not say that I am thankful for each of you, the faithful readers of The Notes, the longest running weekly column in the Playoffs Fantasy Football league. I do this for you and the people and just know that I love each and every one of you. Well almost all of you.
What are you thankful for? Put it in the comments and let us know!
I went back and took a look at the trade polls last week and thought it was interesting to share the results.
I don’t know who forgot to vote on the 3rd trade, but after another dominating Tony Pollard performance I would imagine everyone is starting to think about that trade differently. I still just don’t know how “real” this is but boy does he look like Jamaal Charles right now.
Some huge Rivalry Week matchups this week, lets take a look:

First up is This is the Way vs #1 showemedamoney!. While Billy has some wiggle room to make a mistake, Aaron has no such flexibility. He needs JaMarr Chase to come back and be dominant this week, but he is probably spending the most time watching Alvin Kamara. After an unreal 33 point breakout in Week 8 Kamara hasn’t scored double digit points in three consecutive weeks. Derrick Henry is obviously a difference maker, but Aaron needs Kamara and Chase. Billy on the other hand is driven by Josh Allen and …. Amari Cooper?!?! What the hell Amari! Where was all this last year. Cooper is now the #7 overall WR in Fantasy and has 6 double digit Fantasy Point outings after his season high of 23 in Week 11. Billy’s roster holes have always been depth. With players like Cooper breaking out will he break the mold in 2022?

Next up is probably the most heated rivalry in the league: black is for sunday vs. The Institute. VZ has won 8 of the last 9 rivalry matchups against Brent W. I don’t even understand it. How on earth can that happen. And he is somehow projected for a higher point total than Brent W right now (even with Russell Wilson starting). Brent is off of a huge Week 11 victory over the Commish and with his stable of rookie WR rising combined with MVP level play from Patrick Mahomes, it seems like now is the time for the streak to end right? But let’s not forget what Brent continues to tempt. He isn’t just rostering Jeff Wilson Jr. He is starting him. The boldness knows no bounds. But heck I mean if I lost 8 of the last 9 matchups vs. VZ I guess I would try unconventional approaches too.

Then we have a grudge match of two teams with lost seasons Dirty Mike vs. KRABS. While the outcome of this matchup has little to do with the results of the league, you can rest assured that pride will be on the line. While Brent Cozart continues to trust Tom Brady in his lineup, KRABS is starting Cam Akers & Allen Robinson. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

In the next matchup we have the Kayak Pirates vs. the icon. Both of these teams have had their share of struggles, but they couldn’t be in different spots. Jeff missed a huge opportunity last week vs. Billy by starting Jones and Jacobs vs. Pollard and Jamaal Williams which would have given him a massive upset over the #1 team in the league and honestly a non zero chance of making the playoffs. With the Week 11 loss, advancing is extremely grim and with Tony Pollard in the lineup could we see the let down? I mean he can’t keep doing this can he? Can he?!?!?

In our final matchup we have a massive matchup with an up and down Commish franchise vs. Umphlett and Jerry’s Belt Buckle. Umphlett has had adversity to overcome this year, but he is leading the league in points and while his record doesn’t reflect it is probably one of the strongest rosters in the league this year. The emergence of Ken Walker has changed the dynamics of this team. On the other side of the field Justin Fields has taken the NFL by storm, but he is beat up right now and it is unclear if he plays. There is talent for days on The Commish, but for some reason it just can’t come together. This rivalry has been dominated by The Commish winning 11 of the last 13, but all of the pressure is on me right now because Jerry’s Belt Buckle needs to win to keep pace and this is a matchup I have to win if I want to make the Playoffs. Will this come down to some Jonathan Taylor magic on Monday night?!?!

Let’s do a quick Taysom Hill update.
Week 6: 3
Week 7: 7
Week 8: 7
Week 9: 0
Week 10: 0
Week 11: 5
Total: 22
Taysom Hill needs 14 points to win the bet and has 4 games left.
Before we get to the awards let’s check this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights:
Manager of the Weak

I mean I know Mr. Unlimited looks really sad here, but personally I am absolutely loving Russell Wilson starting for The Institute. I mean it’s downright lovely. Danger Russ has now scored 21 points over the last two weeks combined and I have to imagine that VZ is ready for Kyler Murray to come back. But lets be honest Russ and VZ are meant for each other aren’t they? I mean VZ has a ton of bathrooms in his house. So does Russ. I mean lets look at the stats.

Will Russell Wilson Throw More Passing TDs than Bathrooms in his House?
Yes
No
Move of the Week

Picking defenses is always a tossup, but Brent Cozart nailed it in Week 11 picking the Washington Defense vs. the Houston Texans. The Redskins gave up only 10 points collecting 5 sacks, 2 INT, and a touchdown for a cool 19 points. Now granted it ended up not really mattering because well Travis Kelce isn’t human, but still this was the most impressive move of the week so let’s give it some credit. Smooth moves there Mr. Cozart!
MVP Travis Kelce, Chris Olave, SF Defense, Amari Cooper, Tyler Bass

What a motley crew of nominees this week so it only seems fit that the winner is the one who helped Overbay’s Icon squad hold onto a critical win against the broken last place KRABS franchise 69-65. SF Defense scored 11 points to come from behind and beat KRABS and they were able to keep the Cardinals scoreless over the 2nd half where a single touchdown would have made the difference between a win or loss. Nick Bosa said no dice to that and Overbay gets the victory that keeps him in firmly in the top 3 of the league.
Manager of the Week

Things haven’t gone great for Dirty Mike and Brent Cozart this year. But heck we should have known when the season started with multiple questions about where he stood on the great Bird debate. But his aspirations flew in Week 11 with a huge upset over the highest scoring squad in the team Jerry’s Belt Buckle. Dirty Mike scored 119 points in Week 11 which paced the league and he did this with one of his RB scoring literally nothing. Which means that Dirty Mike wins the Jose’s Taco Truck Blowout of the Week! How do you do this? Travis Kelce. Travis Kelce has been worth every single ounce of his draft capital this year and now how scored double digits in 8 of his 10 games which is just unbelievable. He has two games over 25 points. Travis Kelce now has 149 Fantasy Points. Second place has 81 points. It is theoretically possible that Kelce scores 2X as many points as the TE in 2nd place. That is domination.
Congrats to Brent and the Dirty Mike Franchise on winning the Week 11 Manager of the Week.
Until Week 12…
