Well let's talk about Week 10. The Umphlett streak show continues to roll on, but for black is for sunday and The Commish (Robert Woods, where art thou?) the ride ended. But the show must go on so let's get to chatting.

What Happened to the Points?

Have you noticed that basically over the last three weeks Fantasy scoring in the league is way down? Check it out below. After having the first 7 weeks of the year above a 90 points scored average for all teams, we now have had 3 straight weeks below 90. We went from 3 straight weeks over 100 (with week 5 being one of the highest scoring weeks of all time) to now 3 straight weeks of sub 90 averages. So needless to say that is an odd trend and I can't quite put my finger on it. There have been some weird NFL games the past few weeks with alot of big upsets (can you say Jags over Bills) where teams that have alot of Fantasy starters are flopping. It just further illustrates the point that the NFL is completely unpredictable and you never know what is going to happen.

Backup RBs Step Up

Some big time performances from Backup RBs in Week 10, most notably D'Ernest Johnson and Rhamondre Stevenson. Depth is always key to success in Fantasy Football and when teams face huge injuries (e.g. Derrick Henry) having a player like Stevenson to plug in is a good thing. Rhamondre ran for 100 yards and had two touchdowns in a day where Damien Harris was inactive. And the really interesting question now is, can he keep getting the opportunity to do this? He had a huge preseason and he was a fantastic draft pick for his value, is now the time of Rhamondreszn?

It Finally Happened

I mean big whoop, you finally scored a touchdown. It finally happened on his 132nd catch (an NFL record). I mean it wasn't like I had him on my roster for weeks expecting a breakout with a new young QB as the center of the slot focused offense. I mean it wasn't like I started him multiple times only to get 8 points or less. And the first time Aaron starts him? Touchdown. Why don't you go blow up Jakobi's house too dude? And you are going to start him again tonight against the Falcons. Oh just punch me now.

Life After Derrick Henry

Well apparently life after Derrick Henry is Rhamondreszn because this is just downright ugly and while Jeff has 2/3rds of this motley crew I don't think this is the answer to any question we want to ask.

I'M BACK

In quite possibly the coolest story of the year, Cam Newton is back (we broke it on the Notes last week if you remember). He had a fantastic "Cam" moment in the first game back getting an unsportsmanlike penalty for taking his helmet off after scoring a TD and yelling "I'm Back!" over and over. If you remember, Cam's first ever start in the NFL actually came in Arizona so the serendipity of "round 2" with the Panthers starting in Arizona is actually really weird (and cool).

The Panthers actually have a pretty good supporting cast on offense and Cam seems to be really excited to be back. The question is he still good? I think the answer is no, but he is probably better than Sam Darnold which is a sobering statement. If Cam can lead the Panthers to the playoffs this year what a story that would be eh? And apparently Brent Cozart is so convinced he is actually starting Cam this week. That is either going to make him look like a genius (or an absolute fool).

I just thought this was funny.

Mr. Limited?

Russell really was excited to get back. But it didn't exactly work for the Seahawks with the game on Sunday vs. the Packers being the first Seahawks shutout with Russell Wilson at QB. It is really hard to put a finger on what exactly this Seahawks offense is because even last year they were elite through the first half of the year and then just awful the 2nd half. Now do you really trust them to score a ton of points. Russell Wilson used to be one of the most trustworthy players in Fantasy Football, you could take it to the bank every week. Now something just seems "off". Could it potentially be the fact that the curse of Jeff Wilson Jr is rearing it's ugly head?!?!?!?

And I just crack up every time I watch this video.

We are all NOT KRABS

I don't know about you, but KRABS trading Diggs and Patterson to Brent Cozart and only Brent Cozart looked like the actual definition of capitalism if you ask me. And then he turns around and trades Kyler Murray and Davante Adams to Umphlett. Outrage! Protest! He basically is picking winners and losers and his inability to trade these players to EVERYONE in the league basically just proves that he is a fraud. Someone who was truly interested in "saving" Playoffsville would have traded with everyone, not just the small elite few. Practice what you preach dude. You are clearly a capitalist in sheep's clothing. Marx is rolling in his grave right now, I hope you are happy.

I mean let's go ahead and just buy this for you already. Because we are apparently not ALL KRABS.

Before we move on lets check out the latest episode of Gridiron Heights!

Alight let's get to the awards...

Manager of the Weak

I mean man, talk about just crappy news. Injuries are really awful, but I have always been a fan of Robert Woods. Great guy, great teammate, always makes plays. And the dude tore his ACL in practice and didn't think anything of it and kept practicing only to find out he tore his ACL AFTER practice was over. What a dude. Totally exhibits the culture and Leadership Principle of our franchise. But boy did it come at a poor time because well my franchise is a little WR poor right now and we need WRs to step up. And in Week 10 it was well not good. We scored a total of 8 fantasy points at the WR position. 8. That is not a sustainable victory model and if we want to reach our goals and dreams this year the people in the WR room are going to have to step up. Because the capitalist pigs in this league aren't going to trade any WR to me so it's up to the four of you Amari, Brandon, Tee, and Brandon. Put up or shutup. Now is your time. And do better than Week 10.

Move of the Week

Myles Gaskin was a revelation last year, but this year well he hasn't really been great. He spent the first 5-7 weeks just trying to get on the field (which was bizarre) but over the past 3 weeks he has really been cemented as the feature back for the Dolphins. But the Dolphins have been one of the pass happiest teams in the league so far this season and Gaskin is not exactly scoring a ton of fantasy points. So I was excited with the possibility that Dirty Mike would start Gaskin on a Thursday night game looking to take advantage of a bird in the hand vs. a bird in the bush. Well to my dismay, Dirty Mike benched Gaskin just before Thursday night kickoff and Gaskin of course goes on to have an awful game. Who does Dirty Mike gamble and end up starting? D'Ernest Johnson (apparently the real Mr Unlimited because he has now double digit fantasy points in 100% of his starts this year). It was a gamble with Nick Chubb potentially playing on Sunday, but it was a gamble worth taking because it worked out. A very saavy move by Dirty Mike and it wins him the Week 10 Move of the Week!

MVP

Stefon Diggs, Dak Prescott, Deebo Samuel, Patrick Mahomes, Devonta Smith

Speaking of being back, wow how about that for a reintroduction from Patrick Mahomes. It was like the old days with Patrick dropping 5 Touchdowns and 43 Fantasy Points. And needless to say this was a HUGE performance for Jeff because well things were looking really bleak, but if he has Mahomes playing on this level it fundamentally changes the outlook of the rest of the season for the Kayak Pirates. And that is what makes Fantasy Football go: Hope. Patrick Mahomes gives Jeff and Jacob hope.

Congrats to Patrick for winning the Week 10 MVP!

Manager of the Week

In Week 10 VZ had a huge victory over a struggling showmedamoney! franchise (earning him the Week 10 Manager of the Week) but I think we need to double click into this situation because there is more than meets the eye here. Do my eyes deceive me, but is none other than JEFF WILSON JR being rostered on VZ's team? Does he understand what he is doing? Jeff Wilson Jr played in an NFL game for the first time this season this past week and as I am sure you are all aware, Jeff Wilson Jr is cursed because of the awful and terrible behaviors and actions of one Chris Umphlett. While VZ won, apparently Russell Wilson is Mr Limited now, Courtland Sutton is trying out to be a WR on my team, and well Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins can't get back on the field. Week 10 you were victorious my friend, but you are playing with fire and will the CURSE OF JEFF WILSON JR continue to afflict your franchise? What are you doing man? BUT congrats to VZ for winning the Week 10 Manager of the Week!

Well that's all I got.

Remember the Trade Deadline is Nov 20th (Saturday).

Until Week 11...
