What's up and greetings from Nashville, TN. Been alot of miles the past two weeks and thought I would take a second to do a little bit of a stock watch for different teams in the league. We have alot of movers and shakers and I figure it is time to do a quick review of a handful of teams:

  • KRABS: Good ole KRABS is tied for first place and currently has a 3 game winning streak. He has a combination of Jonathan Taylor (who is the MVP of fantasy football in 2025) and Saquon Barkley, but is everything honky doory in hooville? I am going to say it now: Bo Nix is going to break KRABS heart. He has too much invested in him but if I was him I would come up with another plan because I don't trust that guy at all. The random 4th quarter outbursts are going to give him a shine, but I have a strong suspicion that we are going to look back in January and come to the conclusion that Mr. Nix really let KRABS down when it mattered the most.

  • Kayak Pirates: The past few years we have seen a much more aggressive and active Kayak Pirate franchise. This is clearly due to the new blood in the General Manager's office, but you can't argue with results. Jeff is riding a 4 game win streak and now has added Bijan Robinson and Bucky Irving to his roster. Vegas money is currently flowing in on the Smith's to take home his second Fantasy Championship in 2025. Can he make it happen?

  • Jerry's Belt Buckle: With losing his 5th consecutive matchup, Umphlett seems more interested in lobbying for the hosting location of the 2026 Draft than he does in finding a way to end this depressing losing streak. He plays VZ this week and all of America is at least united in him finally ending this streak.

Before we move to the EVC's column, quick reminder that the trade deadline for the league is next Saturday. Let me know if any questions.

Now without further ado, let's get to the Executive Vice Commish's Fantasy Football Recap...

Welcome to the week 9 “Dream job” recap. Im just going to move onto the awards, i dont want to talk about me scoring over 100 for the first time and still losing.

Move of the Week:

Since nobody changes their lineup, no one wins! Actually, we are going to give move of the week to Caleb Wilson for him singlehandedly putting a smile on my face for changing UNC basketball.

He is putting that sparkled bedazzled belt on everbody...

Manager of the Week:

Daniel had the most points scored this week. Tee Higgins finally did something with 26 points, and he had 5 other players score double digit points leading him to a total of 112 points.

Manager of the Weak:

Luke scored 45 points this week. Oof. I went to check why he scored so little, just to realize that he started Baker Mayfield and Jake Elliot this week. Turns out players have bye weeks and both of them had a bye this week. Also he started Tucker Kraft who was put on IR over a week ago. Friendly reminder to check your lineup every week :). (surprised it wasnt one of veazeys kids to forget about checking)

MVP:

I have nominated:

Christian Mccaffrey (Derek)

Drake London (Alfredo)

Bo Nix (James)

Brock Bowers (Hudson)

Lamar Jackson (Emma)

Tee Higgins (Daniel)

Jaxson Dart (Parker)

I have chosen Drake London as the week 9 MVP. Drake London decided to have this masterclass performance with 3 touchdowns, which finally gave fantasy users who reached way too early for him something to cheer about. This big performance allowed Alfredo to pull away with a clutch win this week. Congrats to Drake London!

Thanks for reading the week 9 recap as we continue to strive to be a better league than the playoffs league.

Until next week…….

There is no episode of Gridiron Heights this week, so I thought I would share this iconic scene from The Office:

Manager of the Weak

ree

Well in a shocking twist Brent Cozart BENCHED Rico Dowdle in Week 9. And it was a curious decision for sure, considering that it was announced earlier in the week that Rico was going to be the starter and get the majority of touches. And what happened? Rico went out and scored 26 points via 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns. But Brent not starting Rico wasn't the biggest injustice of the weekend. The biggest injustice of the weekend was the fact that Rico was flagged even though he only had TWO PUMPS! I mean everyone knows you have to have at least three pumps to be flagged.

But hey maybe Brent Cozart isn't happy and singing, but at least this guy is rocking.

Move of the Week

ree

D'Andre Swift was out on the Friday injury report and in steps rookie Kyle Monangai against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL with the Bengals. Simple math should mean that this was going to be a good idea so what the heck I picked him up (primarily because VZ has Swift). But then I realized that hey I should probably start this guy and he went and had 19 Fantasy Points with 176 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards. He didn't get a touchdown (and some RB I have literally never heard of scored for the Bears) but hey 19 points is pretty good for a guy I picked up because VZ's running back was out.

MVP

ree

Drake London, Kyle Monangai, Tee Higgins, Davante Adams, Josh Allen

Some big performances in Week 9, but there was no bigger performance than Tee Higgins dropping 26 fantasy points for the icon in a 8 point victory. It has been a struggle for Higgins (and Overbay) in 2025 but he turned back the clock in Week 9 and had 121 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, and a 2 point conversion. Joe Flacco has really unlocked the Bengals offense (which is sort of ridiculous honestly) and Higgins is looking like a top 25 WR as long as Flacco is healthy for the rest of the season. Congrats to Higgins and Overbay for winning the Week 9 MVP.

Manager of the Week

ree

HYPE TRAIN COMING? Again? With a huge Week 9 victory over Dirty Mike, Brent and black is for sunday moves into 3rd place and is looking to make another run to defend his championship. McCaffery has been an absolute steal where he was drafted and is back to being a top 2 player in Fantasy Football. He has reunited with his mancrush Lamar Jackson and he has three elite WRs that can carry a roster any single week. And somehow he has picked up a top 5 scoring TE off of the waiver wire by happen stance. He has a massive matchup this week with Jeff and is somehow projected for 109 points. That is wild. Congrats to Brent and black is for sunday for winning the Week 9 Manager of the Week!

Until Week 10...
