Week 3/4

Man the hits keep coming and Week 3 was more injuries. Some really tough ones too. I mean just check out this footage of Overbay after he learned about Achane's season ending knee injury:
Besides the injuries, the other big headline in the NFL this week was related to ... Minecraft?!?!
Mike Tomlin has been building this massive Minecraft City for TWELVE YEARS! Why is this so funny to me. It's basically so off brand to what you would expect an NFL coach to be spending his time on, and specifically Mike Tomlin. I watched some of the video and the level of detail and thought he put into this city was unreal. I am sure Steelers fans everywhere are loving the fact that he was basically obsessed with Minecraft the entire time he was the coach. I mean AB was clearly thrilled with it...
Things I Am Watching During Week 4 (RIVALRY WEEK)
Both Woodcox and VZ are in the top 4 as they renew their bitter rivalry. Josh Allen and KW3 are the super stars for black is for sunday, but he finds himself starting Devaughn Vele (who?) and Chuba Hubbard. On the other side of the field Nico Collins is back as Justin Jefferson is injured (the injuries are just out of control). After years of frustration and futility vs. his rival, Brent was 2-0 in Rivalry Weeks vs. The Institute in 2025. Will he continue his streak or will it be more of heartbreak?
QB has been a voltile position through three weeks of the season and it appears that another QB has been benched with Aaron sitting Jalen Hurts down for Jared Goff. This will end up being a critical decision for this matchup.
Who Would You Play In Week 4?
Jalen Hurts @ PHI (Home) vs. Rams
Jared Goff @ CAR (Away) vs. Panthers
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Dirty Mike has now lost two starting QBs back to back in Weeks 2 and 3. And Cozart's response was to bid $34 on Sam Darnold. With zero other competing bids. Yikes. And let's not forget that Cozart is still trying to find a solution for AJ Brown. The Week 4 plan? Mack Hollins. How am I 0-3 again?
Was Parker Washington the biggest steal in the draft? He has scored three straight weeks of at least 9 points and is clearly the Jaguars #1 WR. With the Achane season ending injury, Washington finds himself in the starting lineup for the first time all year as the 4th WR. Depth is always important and it appears that Overbay has it so far.
Michael Wilson got 17 targets in Week 3. Marvin Harrison Jr. has 9 targets all year. I had Michael Wilson last year and he is was awesome. And I didn't believe it and drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. Sigh.
Before we get to this week’s awards, check out this week’s episode of Gridiron Heights.
Season 11, Episode 4
Manager of the Weak

I mean it's not like I am counting or anything, but is it possible for Tight Ends to score fantasy points? I mean is it theoretically possible? Three straight weeks. Zero points from the Tight End in my lineup. That isn't normal is it? I mean Terrance Ferguson, my week 3 starter, lasted 11 offensive plays before he was injured and came out of the game. He somehow managed to come back into the game only to have the below happen. Yeah thats wonderful. Just fantastic.
I mean this year just hasn't started off great. I have basically lost both of my QBs and that seems to be a sustainable victory model for everyone EXCEPT me.
I am starting to think that maybe my keepers were not awesome. Maybe. But one thing is for sure, this video hits a little too close to home:
As we enter into Week 4 and Rivalary Week going against the First Place Jerry's Belt Buckle this is me right now:
Move of the Week

Apparently Gridiron Heights isn't the only entity questioning whether Justin Herbert is good. Because right before Kickoff there was consensus in the classic Smith debates over Fantasy and the verdict was clear: Justin Herbert was benched and Tyler Shough was the new starter for the Kayak Pirates. And that turned out to be a very critical move because if they didn't make that move the Kayak Pirates would have lost, It may have been a season saving move which is why starting Shough over Herbert is the Week 3 Move of the Week!
MVP
Tyler Shough, Jahmyr Gibbs, Lamar Jackson, Bijan Robinson, Brock Purdy

When you score 32 fantasy points in the Thursday night game that is usually a great sign that you have high odds of winning the MVP. Bijan Robinson is a fantasy stud and helped lead Aaron's squad to their second victory in 2026 with 194 Rushing Yards and two rushing tocuhdowns. With Penix back and helping to revitalize the Falcons offense the only player in the NFL that has any sort of shot to score at the same level is Gibbs. They are both out of this world talents, but in Week 3 Bijan Robinson is your MVP!
Manager of the Week

Last week in this column we talked about how Jeremiyah Love's usage was a hot topic in the Umphlett household. Well apparently that manifested the change Umphlett was looking for because in Week 3 Love was a usage monster with 21 carries and 5 receptions on his way to scoring a season high 16 fantasy points. You combine that with Gibbs and a top 10 QB in Prescott and anything can happen. And I mean Umphlett started Deebo Samuel who had the wildest stat line ever in Week 3, 80 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown, 14 fantasy points and ZERO receptions. I mean, c'mon on man. But at the end of the day the fantasy points are all that matter and Umphlett now finds himself in solo first place and the only undefeated team in the league which is why he is your Week 3 Manager of the Week!
Until Week 4/5,
-The Commish
P.S. In case you missed this wonderful video I thought I would share it here. It got multiple rounds on Twitter over the past 24 hours. I tried to use AI to remove the profanity but couldn't get it all so PSA. But the video still makes me laugh. Stick with it.
