Well we had fireworks in Week 7! It was the highest scoring week of the season and in fact it was the 8th highest scoring week in league history (which is pretty wild). 6 teams scored over 100 points and 3 teams scored over 130. Fun fact, the highest scoring week in league history was Week 5 in 2021 when we scored a combined 1,156 points (84 more than this past week).

  • Brent beat me 153 to 86, behind 46 points from Lamar Jackson and 30 points from Mark Andrews

  • Umphlett beat Cozart 134 to 97, behind 47 points from Justin Herbert

  • Aaron beat KRABS 117 to 102, behind 21 points from Ja'Marr Chase

  • Billy beat Jeff 121 to 110, behind 39 points from Josh Allen

  • VZ beat Overbay 125 to 110, behind 24 points from Antonio Brown

But is there a bigger flex than what KRABS did in Week 7? If you recall last week I pointed out that KRABS had never (in the over 20 years of competing in this league) scored at least 150 points. And look what he did the very next day after I posted this fact. He scored 155 points. I mean come on. I mean really. Come on Man!

So now we find ourselves in a world where KRABS now holds to himself the 5th highest scoring output in league history with 155 points. I mean. Come on Man.

With that said I would like to point out the following things as well:

  1. The Institute has never scored 31 points in a single week.

  2. The Institute has never finished in 10th place.

  3. Brent Cozart has never won 5 weeks in a row.

  4. The Commish has never won a championship after being 10th in the standings.

And with those facts clearly documented, let's get to the EVC's recap of Week 7 of the Dream Job league!

ree

Welcome to the week 7 “Dream Job” recap. This is a once in a lifetime week, as I finally won a game! Sorry to spoil the party to your first fantasy league Everly, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn. But besides that lets move to the awards.

Move of the Week:

I’m giving it to myself on this one. This whole year ive been on the Jordan Love hype train, hoping for a breakout year. It has not really happened this year, so i turned to Matthew Stafford the past 2 weeks. In london this week, Stafford tore apart the Jaguars and scored 36 points to lead me to victory.

Manager of the Week:

Finally we have one of the older kids having a good week. Both Daniel and Jacob scored over 120 points this week, with Daniel scoring two more than Jacob. Rashee Rice came back fast (…) and Dak Prescott had another good week for Daniel to lead him to a win. Congrats to Bacon Bit!

Manager of the Weak:

Brooks had another bad week scoring 70 points this week. Just after an amazing week for Sam Darnold, he had a very bad week with only 9 points. Brooks also had bad performances from Tony Pollard and Kenneth Walker (havent you learned yet??).

MVP:

I have nominated:

Matthew Stafford (JT)

Jaxson Dart (Parker)

Jahmyr Gibbs (Hudson)

Christian Mccaffrey (Derek)

Bo Nix (James)

Chris Olave (Daniel)

Jonathan Taylor (Jacob)

I have chosen Bo Nix as the week 7 MVP. For the first 3 quarters of this game, the broncos looked terrible, and it wasn’t looking good for James. But if you are playing the Giants, nothing is over until its over. Nix and the Broncos put it in full throttle, scoring 33 points in the 4th quarter, leading to a huge fantasy performance. This performance led James to a huge statement win over his brother. Congrats Bo Nix for the week 7 MVP!

Thanks for reading the week 7 recap as we continue to strive to be a better league than the playoffs league.

Until next week…….

Season 10, Episode 8:

Manager of the Weak

ree

Week 7 was a disaster. I total disaster. Not only did I lose, I lost to VZ. The Institute. Pure Evil. And I didn't just lose. I lost by 39 points, which is tied for the second worst lost in franchise history against The Institute. Which made me unfortunately go back in time to understand what the worst loss was against The Institute and let's just say "Woof".

Who saw a Marc Bulger reference coming in today's edition of the Notes?!?!
Who saw a Marc Bulger reference coming in today's edition of the Notes?!?!

And now apparently Lamar is hungry. Very Hungry. But that is just too many carbs for us. So he had to go. This is Drake Maye's team now.

This season hasn't gone as expected. But The Commish is open for business. Send me your trade offers and let's do some business!

Move of the Week

ree

Apologies to the Cleveland Defense and Brent Woodcox, but I am going to give the Move of the Week to Jeff for starting Joe Flacco, because well it was stupid. And yet Flacco scored 29 points. When I start Romeo "The Dawg" Doubs he doesn't score 29 points. Why does Jeff get 29 points when he starts Joe Flacco? 40 year old can barely move and apparently eats at Applebees by himself Joe Flacco. I mean: Come. On. Man.

MVP

Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Ja'Marr Chase, Bo Nix, Joe Flacco

ree

Lots of big performances in Week 7, but none bigger than Bo Nix's 4th quarter. The guy had 174 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns as well as 46 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. He scored 33 points in the 4th quarter alone. According to TruMedia, its the most fantasy points that any QB has scored in a single quarter since Week 6 in 2009 (Tom Brady). Congrats to Bo Nix and KRABS for winning the Week 7 MVP!

Manager of the Week

ree

I mean. I sort of laid out the pain above. I guess I might as well get it out of the way and let him win Manager of the Week too. Sigh.

Congrats to VZ for winning the Week 7 Manager of the Week!

Until Week 8...
